After you’ve designed or purchased your soil, and placed it into your containers, you’ll want to prepare your seeds. Some seeds require soaking for 24 hours prior to planting and others don’t.

If your seeds don’t require soaking, you can gently place them in the soil and give them a light covering of soil. Just sprinkle some on gently.

Mist your newly planted seeds lightly with a water mister (any spray bottle set to the spray setting will do) and keep the soil just moist for the next few weeks and you should see little sprouts beginning to emerge within a short time.

After your little sprouts emerge keep the planters misted as required. You don’t want to drown your new little seedlings, you just want to keep them moist.

After your seedlings have grown to several inches tall, remove any that aren’t growing vigorously. This is called weeding out and you’ll have a much healthier plant is you rely on only those seedlings that are doing well.

After your seedlings get their third set of leaves you’ll want to replant them into a larger container. Nurture your new little indoor vegetable garden and within a short time, you’ll have fresh vegetables growing.

Water as required but avoid overwatering. If the soil is dry, it’s time to water. If the soil is still moist wait another day to water.

As your plant grows, be sure to pinch it back so that it’s growing outward as well as upward. This will ensure a healthier plant that will yield a heartier crop of vegetables.

You’ll want to keep them in a sunny window but make sure that they’re not burning in the sun. Sun that shines through a window can be far more intense than that of a regular outdoor garden.

Your indoor garden can be as large or as small as you desire. Just keep nurturing it and you’ll find that you can have as manny fresh vegetables as you desire.

Once you have your indoor garden well established many plants will thrive year around. You won’t be limited to just the summer for fresh vegetables.
